Stretch your hip flexors for peak performance

Athletes! Stretch your hip flexors ! Hip flexors are key to sports performance.

Hip flexors are perhaps the most important muscle group in your entire body. They are the only muscles that connect the lower body to the upper body and play a major role in walking, postural alignment, joint mobility, flexibility, and balance and they are critical for athletic performance.

They allow for your knee to drive upwards and set motion faster and more powerful. Tight hip flexors do not allow you to extend your back leg and restricts the ability to maximize leg power. After you run, walk, sit all day - stretch those hip flexors! If there is only one stretch you do each you did each day- do the splits. Set yourself up between two chairs and extend both legs out in opposite directions as best you can! The splits not only lengthen your hip flexors but also your hamstrings.

Here is a short yoga routine to unlock tight hips and hip-flexors.
